This Fourth of July: Two Years Behind the Camera

As we celebrate our country's independence today, I also celebrate a successful first two years of photography. These two years have been without a doubt the best two years of my life, because through photography I found meaning and everything began to fit.

It started about two years ago, on a whim, when a close family friend let me use his camera recreationally for a day or two, and then helped me choose my first camera. In my first week with my camera, I tried photographing the Fourth of July Fireworks. Now, two years later, I tried again, and it's a whole different feeling. I am thankful to have the freedom to be a photographer, and anything else I want to be. These photos are dedicated to the people who have fought for and continue to fight to keep this beautiful country free.
